There are banned pesticides found on supermarket produce.

According to a Greenpeace report released on Jan.10, 2012, most produce found at five supermarkets in China contain residues of one or more pesticides, and in some cases, these pesticides are either banned or the amount of residues exceeds legal limits.

Food safety is one of the biggest concerns for Chinese people. Supermarkets have the responsibity to supply safe food to consumers. Food & Agriculture team has work for three years to pushing supermarkets give commitment on banning most harzardous pesticide and avoid GE food in their own brand veg, fruits and grain. We will use this round of testing result to keep building pressure on those lacking behind ones.
