The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong Graduate Internship Grant
Building on the success of the Anniversary Internship Grant, the Chamber will award a new HK$100,000 Internship Grant in 2012 to a recently graduated university student.Recent university graduates with a demonstrated interest in Hong Kong and Greater China are welcome to apply for the Internship Grant.
1. The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong Graduate Internship Grant
As the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2011 it awarded an Anniversary Internship Grant to Mr Dan Fjeldheim-Ek, a recent graduate of the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg. Building on the success of the Anniversary Internship Grant, the Chamber will award a new HK$100,000 Internship Grant in 2012 to a recently graduated university student.
The winner will be invited to complete a ten-month internship at the Chamber, starting September 1, 2012. The cash grant will be distributed in monthly installments to support the recipient’s living expenses. In addition, the Chamber will reimburse one roundtrip airfare Sweden – Hong Kong.
The Internship Grant highlights the long-term presence, commitment and spearhead position of Swedish businesses in Hong Kong and South China. It also highlights the instrumental part played by the Chamber in advancing Swedish interests in the region during the past quarter of a century.

2. Application Process for the Internship Grant awarded in 2012 by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong
Selection criteria:
Academic achievements: At least a B.A. (fil.kand.) degree (or equivalent) awarded in 2009 or later, with excellent grades
Languages: Fluency in Swedish and English. Chinese language skills are not required, but would be considered an advantage
Professional focus: A demonstrated interest in international business (work, internships, academic projects)
Leadership: A demonstrated capacity to serve as a project leader
Hong Kong / Greater China focus: A demonstrated interest in Hong Kong or Greater China
Applications should be received by the Chamber no later than March 31, 2012. An application should contain (all in English):
• An application letter explaining why the applicant is applying for the Internship Grant and what applicant would expect to contribute to the Chamber (no more than 500 words)
• A resume / CV (no more than one page)
• Academic transcripts showing university degree received and grades
• A copy of the applicant’s passport
• Two letters of recommendation from individuals with a thorough knowledge of the applicant as a student or a young professional (250-350 words each)
The recipient of the Internship Grant will be notified by the Chamber by April 30, 2012.
During the internship, it is expected that the recipient will require some amount of additional financing to the Internship Grant. It is the recipient’s responsibility to arrange such financing.
The recipient is also responsible for making appropriate insurance arrangements for the duration of the internship. Please note that the Internship Grant does not include a housing allowance. The Chamber may be of assistance, but the recipient is responsible for his or her housing arrangements and the associated cost during the internship.

Svenska Handelskammaren i Hong Kong utlyser ett stipendium på 100,000 Hong Kong dollar
Svenska Handelskammaren i Hong Kong utlyser under 2012 ett praktikantstipendium till en nyss utexaminerad universitetsstudent .
Stipendiet består av totalt 100 000 Hong Kong dollar (86 500 kronor) inklusive en praktikplats på Svenska Handelskammarens i Hong Kong kontor 1 september 2012-30 juni 2013.
”Detta stipendium skall ses som en fortsatt satsning på unga personer som kan bidraga till att främja svenskt näringsliv i Hong Kong”, säger Handelskammarens ordförande Ulf Ohrling. ”Vi är stolta över våra aktiva medlemmar och vill nu ge en ung, talangfull person möjligheten att komma till Hong Kong för att ytterligare stärka Handelskammarens position här.”
